Clean Energy Fuels Opens First LNG Station in Florida as Part of America’s Natural Gas Highway

February 4th, 2014 by Fiedler Group

Clean Energy Fuels Corporation — the Newport Beach company responsible for America’s Natural Gas Highway — has opened the first liquefied natural gas (LNG) fueling station in Jacksonville, Florida.

The company has also opened its fueling stations in Pontoon Beach, Illinois and Fontana, California to heavy-duty natural gas trucks as this trucking segment continues its transition to clean natural gas.

The Jacksonville LNG fueling station — which will be servicing United Parcel Service (UPS) and Raven Transport — is a first for the state of Florida and will act as an LNG gateway to the Southern Florida region.

Andrew J. Littlefair, Clean Energy’s President and CEO noted, “Florida has taken several steps to support the adoption of natural gas vehicles and we’re expanding the necessary infrastructure accordingly to support this forward-looking state.”

In addition to its progress in the heavy duty trucking industry, Clean Energy Fuels has also signed an agreement to maintain Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling stations, which support 500 CNG vehicles, offering the bus customers of Texas’ largest transit fleet a more sustainable and cost-efficient transit experience.

Over the past 2 ½ years, Fiedler Group has contributed preliminary site research, entitlement services, construction documents development, and permitting services for more than 95 Clean Energy LNG fueling facilities throughout the United States.
